Roof Cost Calculator for Purcell
This calculator helps you put a straightforward architectural-shingle replacement into budget context. It uses measured roof surface, rather than living area, and keeps its inputs inside the regional example's supported size range.
Turn a roof size into a useful planning range
This calculator helps you put a straightforward architectural-shingle replacement into budget context. It uses measured roof surface, rather than living area, and keeps its inputs inside the regional example's supported size range. The result explains its assumptions so you can see what needs a closer project assessment.

Architectural Shingle Budget Calculator
The Oklahoma-region planning model uses $4.50 to $7.50 per square foot of measured roof surface for 1,500 to 3,000 square feet. Its basis is a dated provider-published 2026 architectural-shingle scenario, retained as internal research. It assumes one existing layer, normal access, moderate complexity and usable decking. The result is illustrative budgeting, not a project quote.
Keep the 2,000 sq. ft. example, or enter an area you already know. Roof footprint means the area covered, not total living space.
Keep the 6:12 example unless you already know the pitch. Pitch helps check material suitability.
Planning budget example
Planning example for 2,000 sq. ft. of actual roof surface, using architectural asphalt shingles. Ordinary tear-off is included.
Planning range for one existing layer, normal access, moderate complexity and usable decking. Extra layers, damaged support, difficult access and upgrades need a project-specific scope.

What this planning budget assumes
Oklahoma / Oklahoma City area architectural-shingle research checked October 27, 2026. The published examples cover 1,500 to 3,000 square feet of measured roof surface; the calculator stays within that range.
The scenario assumes one existing layer, ordinary access, moderate complexity and usable decking. Hidden wood, additional layers, structural work, gutters and other trades need separate pricing.
Known roof surface is used directly. Footprint mode adjusts for pitch, then applies the same supported roof-surface bounds. Living space is not roof area. Asphalt shingles need at least a 2:12 pitch; a low-slope section needs a suitable separate system.
What Changes a Roof Budget
- Area and pitch
A house's floor area is not its roof area. Garages, porches, overhangs and slope change the surface being covered. Use the measured roof-surface mode when that figure is available. The footprint-and-pitch mode explains the conversion and remains subject to the same roof-surface limits. A roof outside those bounds needs an inspection rather than an extrapolated price.
- The actual project
Decking, multiple layers, difficult staging, steep or intricate work and upgrades can change the project. The roof-cost guide explains why those items matter. A free roof inspection and roof walk connect a budget conversation to the actual roof.
Roof Cost Calculator FAQs in Purcell
Why does the calculator reject some sizes?
Its regional scenario covers 1,500 to 3,000 square feet of measured roof surface. Larger or smaller roofs need a project-specific discussion rather than an unsupported extension.
Is the result a roof quote?
No. It is an illustrative planning range for stated assumptions. The roof condition, access, material and actual work establish a project quote.
